About

Hum Mashal-e-Rah Foundation (HMR) was established on August 18, 2017, with a mission to enhance the lives of individuals with different abilities—Blind, Deaf and Mute, Wheelchair Users, Slow Learners, Down Syndrome, Autistic, ADHD, Ataxia & Dyslexia—as well as to promote girls’ education in rural areas with inclusivity at its core.

Our vision is to achieve this mission through various meaningful projects:

  • Maskan in Nasheman: An all-encompassing Institute for individuals aged 18 to 50 with disabilities. In collaboration with the Social Welfare Department Punjab, it stands as Pakistan’s pioneering state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Centre, Vocational Training Institute, and Skill Development Center. It caters to a diverse range of People with Disabilities (PWDs) including the Blind, Deaf & Mute, and Physically Challenged among others, all under one roof.
  • HMR Bright Beginnings: A cutting-edge Institute introducing an International Curriculum for children aged 13 and above. Our focus is on promoting the art of independent living and skill development, ultimately leading to financial empowerment. The students undergo two stages of evaluation and assessment, each aimed at crafting an Individual Education Program (IEP) tailored to their needs.
  • Mashal-e-Noor in Chaman: In collaboration with the Social Welfare Department Punjab, this institute caters to Mentally Challenged Children aged 4 to 16. Currently under renovation, it will soon emerge as a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to developing intellectual and physical abilities through advanced therapies and life skills training programs.
  • Mashal-e-Noor at Children Library Complex: Another institute for Mentally Challenged Children (4-16 years), this project, in collaboration with the Schools Education Department Punjab, fosters inclusivity through mother support groups. Its mission is to enhance intellectual and physical abilities via therapies and life skills training.
  • Project Mashal-e-Iqra: This initiative focuses on establishing schools for formal girls’ education with inclusivity in rural Punjab. Learning is enriched through internships, teacher training programs, and parent support groups.
  • Project Mashal-e-Shifa: Our aim here is to provide Free Medicines, Free Medical Camps, and Free Medical Assistive Devices for PWDs, ensuring their health and well-being.
