HMR Bright Beginnings
HMR Bright Beginnings is an initiative that supports individuals aged 10 and above on their path to independent living. Through free access to therapy, academics, life skills training, and personal grooming, the institute fosters self-reliance and confidence in a caring, inclusive setting. With a strong focus on empowerment and personal growth, HMR Bright Beginnings enables each participant to realize their full potential.
- Mashal-e-Hunar empowers marginalized women through skill development programs across Kasur, Chishtian, and Islamabad. Launched with an investment of Rs. 8 million, the project has benefited over 2,800 women. It equips participants with practical skills for income generation and self-reliance. The initiative fosters economic empowerment and social upliftment.
- Independent Living Center (2024–Present): Established at Home Economics University, Lahore, the center supports students and faculty with special needs. Operational since 2024, it offers a fully accessible environment that promotes independence and dignity. The facility includes customized infrastructure and assistive features. It reflects a strong commitment to inclusion within academic settings.
- Rs. 9 Million Investment and Inclusive Vision: The center was developed through a comprehensive Rs. 9 million renovation project. This investment highlights the university’s dedication to equity and accessibility. It ensures equal academic participation for differently-abled individuals. Mashal-e-Hunar and the Center together stand as models of empowerment and inclusion.
- Project Establishment and Focus: Mashal-e-Rozgar was established in 2019 as a transformative initiative aimed at empowering individuals, with a special focus on Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). The project is designed to foster entrepreneurship and support the development of small businesses, enabling beneficiaries to gain the skills and confidence required to engage in economic activities.
- Support and Resources Provided: The project provides comprehensive support by equipping beneficiaries with the necessary resources, training, and ongoing guidance to start and sustain their own business ventures. - Impact and Investment: With a total investment of Rs. 5 million, Mashal-e-Rozgar has successfully impacted approximately 850 students. - Established in 2017, the Ramadan Drive is a flagship humanitarian initiative focused on supporting underprivileged communities during the holy month of Ramadan. The drive has grown significantly over the years, becoming a major effort aimed at providing essential support and fostering community welfare during this sacred time.
- The initiative involves large-scale distribution of ration bags, daily Sehris and Iftaris, and thoughtful Eid gifts. These efforts ensure that vulnerable families receive nutritious meals and essential supplies throughout Ramadan, preserving their dignity and providing care when they need it most.
- With an investment exceeding Rs. 2.5 Crores, the Ramadan Drive has positively impacted over 1,000,000 people. This extensive outreach has created a profound and lasting impact on countless households, alleviating hardship and strengthening community bonds during a critical period.
- Swift and Strategic Response to Major Crises: Amid unprecedented challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic (2019–2021) and the catastrophic floods of 2022, the Disaster Management & Emergency Relief initiative was mobilized to provide timely, effective, and deeply humanitarian support to affected communities.
- Comprehensive Relief Operations: The initiative delivered essential aid including emergency food, hygiene supplies, healthcare support, and rehabilitation services. These efforts were carefully targeted to meet the immediate and ongoing needs of vulnerable populations facing extreme hardships.
- Significant Impact with Robust Investment: With resources worth approximately Rs. 1.5 Crores, the program reached over 500,000 beneficiaries, offering critical assistance that brought hope, relief, and stability to thousands of families during their darkest hours.T
- Purpose and Vision: Noor-e-Maskan is a dedicated rehabilitation and nursing home for neuro-divergent children and adults—including those with Autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, and other developmental challenges—aiming to provide holistic care and improve their quality of life. The project addresses a critical gap by offering emotional, social, and cognitive support in a safe, welcoming environment, fulfilling a vital promise to families worried about their loved ones’ future.
- Comprehensive Facilities and Services: The project includes a Therapeutic Centre (speech, physiotherapy, occupational, and behavioral therapies), a Capability Refinement Centre (independent living skills, academics, arts and crafts, computer lab), and Recreational Facilities (sports, music, kitchen gardening). It is structured as a composite complex with rehabilitation (Hammad Block), research (Noor Block), and residential (Taaha Block) facilities.
- Urgent Need and Impact: With 1 in 42 children in Pakistan diagnosed with special needs and a severe shortage of specialized residential and research centers, Noor-e-Maskan aims to support overburdened families by providing lifelong care and security for neuro-divergent individuals, persons with disabilities, spinal care patients, and those with Alzheimer’s and dementia—filling a critical national need.
