Waqas (32 Years)
Visually Impaired Waqas, a 32-year-old from Lahore, is a powerful testament to the fact that loss of sight is not a loss of vision. While navigating the challenges of visual impairment, he joined our Maskan Project to master JAWS and call center operations, eventually securing a PSDF- funded diploma. To bridge the gap between skill and sustainability, Hum Mashal-e-Rah invested PKR 130,000 into a grocery venture for him. Today, working in beautiful synergy with his wife, Waqas has transformed that investment into a thriving business, generating a monthly income of PKR. 150,000 and redefining what it means to be a self-made leader in his community. Sohail (25 Years)
Polio Effected & Wheelchair Bound For 25-year-old Sohail, a wheelchair was never a destination, but a vehicle for change. Hailing from Gujranwala, he joined the Maskan Project as a resident student, where he channelled his resilience into mastering the art of professional baking and cooking through a free TEVTA-certified program. Empowered by a customized PKR 80,000 Fried Food Cart provided by Hum Mashal-e-Rah, Sohail has successfully transitioned from a student to a business owner. Now earning PKR 100,000 per month, he stands as a symbol of how vocational training and targeted asset support can shatter the glass ceiling for people with physical disabilities.
Farooq (48 Years)
Physically Challenged At 48, Farooq proved that determination has no age limit and disability is no barrier to success. Despite relying on a walker and quad-canes for mobility, he mastered the complexities of Electrical and Mobile Repairing through our Maskan Project, earning prestigious TEVTA and PSDF certifications. To turn his skills into a sustainable livelihood, Hum Mashal-e-Rah provided a PKR 100,000 investment to open his independent mobile repair shop. Today, Farooq is a proud entrepreneur and the primary breadwinner for his family, demonstrating that with a strategic setup and a resilient spirit, physical limitations can be transformed into professional excellence.
Sehar (5 Years)
Hearing Loss Five-year-old Sehar arrived at HMR Bright Beginnings in a world of silence. Despite receiving a cochlear implant, she had zero speech capability and faced a future of isolation. However, through our intensive, free-of-cost speech therapy sessions, the impossible became a reality. Within just six months of clinical dedication, Sehar didn’t just find her voice-she found her future. She has since transitioned into a mainstream school, communicating with confidence and proving that early intervention is the key to unlocking a child’s social and academic potential.
Abdullah (4 Years)
Mild Autistic Abdullah’s story is one of perseverance and the power of specialized care. As the four-year-old son of a dedicated Police Infantryman, Abdullah faced the complexities of mild autism that required expert intervention. At HMR Bright Beginnings, we provided him with a comprehensive suite of behavior and developmental therapies at no cost to his family. After 14 months of consistent, high-impact clinical support, Abdullah achieved a milestone many thought out of reach: he successfully integrated into a mainstream school and is now thriving in Grade 1, a living example of how neurodiverse children can excel when given the right foundation.
Usman (44 Years)
Usman, a 44-year-old neurodivergent adult with Down syndrome, faced profound loneliness after losing both his parents, while family responsibilities made it difficult for others to provide round-the-clock care. When his family discovered Hum Mashal-e-Rah Foundation, they found more than support-they found a community. Within HMR, Usman learned to live more independently, formed meaningful friendships, and rediscovered joy in everyday life.
